Blooming with decisions
It’s that time of year where desolate trees are now filling in with leaves, suddenly looking so much bigger than they did in the dead of winter. On one tree near the office, limbs bloom and a few don’t, dead for whatever reason after a harsher than normal winter.
As I look at the tree, I can’t help but thinking of one of my favorite analytic tools - Decision Trees.
In its simplest form, decision trees are a series of yes/no answers to a question that outlines all possible outcomes. The more complex the question or data used, the more branches live on your tree.
I look at the branches that didn’t survive the winter and think of our clients. We can prune the dead branches (audience segments not performing, marketing spends not delivering results, campaigns not pulling their weight).
With the decision trees, they can sometimes be really easy to see. Just like the dead limbs I look at in the window.
Let us take a peek and see if a little pruning can save you money or turbo-charge your results.
